Registration

Going digital together – use RPIS now!

As part of duisport’s digitalization process, RPIS is being introduced as the reporting portal. The aim of the portal is to make the reporting of vessel arrivals and departures, as well as cargo handling reports, to the port authorities transparent and reliable.

In this context, cargo handling companies at the Port of Duisburg are required to report vessel cargo handling via RPIS. To ensure this runs smoothly, we ask ship owners/operators to submit their booking requests for time slots for cargo handling at the terminals directly via the reporting portal.

RheinPorts GmbH

Vessel Reporting System RPIS

The RiverPorts Planning and Information System (RPIS) is Europe’s most comprehensive hinterland port communication system (traffic management platform). It currently covers the handling of container vessels at numerous inland ports. Simply put, the system exchanges the necessary information between all relevant stakeholders in international supply chains to best support the physical transport of goods and, in particular, handling at logistics hubs.

RheinPorts aims to continuously expand the port communication system, both functionally and geographically, together with partners and users, in line with market requirements. The platform is intended to become the standard along the Rhine and in the European hinterland, integrated into goods flows and supply chains as a so-called “Smart Port and Logistics Service Platform.”

Services

Fresh Water (household quantities)

Available from the harbor master at the Pegelhaus. Drinking water for cargo vessels is included in the port dues. This means that any cargo vessel entering the port entrance to load drinking water is also liable for daily port dues. Passenger vessels are exempt from the drinking water charge.

Shore Power

The new shore power columns at the Port of Duisburg provide vessels with an environmentally friendly power supply while berthed. This saves fuel, reduces emissions and protects the environment. You can connect your vessel to the charging columns via a CEE plug and start/stop charging using an RFID card. RFID cards can be purchased from Stadtwerke Duisburg. Current prices can be found below.

Waste Disposal

Disposal of household waste is free of charge. Commercial waste is charged accordingly. Waste bags can be handed over to the crew of our work vessel, duisport I (Contact: 0160-5309715). Download the current ship waste management plan here.

Charges

For the use of ports and their facilities, the owner of the vessel or floating unit must pay port dues. Quay dues must be paid for all goods handled via the quay or from vessel to vessel, or carried out using a port facility. Quay dues are payable by the company based in the port that carries out the cargo handling.

The tariff rate for a stay of 1 to 3 calendar days applies to:

Easter, from 04/02/2026 (Thursday),
6:00 p.m., to 04/07/2026 (Tuesday),
8:00 a.m., i.e. 6 days;
Pentecost, from 05/22/2026 (Friday),
6:00 p.m., to 05/26/2026 (Tuesday), 8:00 a.m., i.e. 5 days;
Christmas, from 12/23/2026 (Wednesday),
6:00 p.m., to 12/27/2026 (Sunday), 8:00 a.m., i.e. 5 days;
New Year’s Eve, from 12/30/2026 (Wednesday),
6:00 p.m., to 01/02/2027 (Saturday), 8:00 a.m., i.e. 4 days.

These rules apply exclusively to motor cargo vessels without cargo handling.
