logport: Shaping the Transformation

From industrial wasteland to one of Europe’s leading logistics locations – a success story spanning the area of 560 football fields! logport is our response to the diverse challenges of modern logistics.

The logport-conzept: Our contribution to structural transformation

Coal and steel moved out – duisport moved in. In 1998, a new era began in Duisburg with the 265-hectare site (equivalent to around 371 football fields) of the former Krupp steelworks in Duisburg-Rheinhausen. The idea of repurposing industrial brownfields, remediating the land, and developing it into multimodal logistics hubs took shape with logport I.

This concept became a unique success story: International logistics service providers settled on site, and the Port of Duisburg evolved into a major European logistics hub – now a flagship location for North Rhine-Westphalia’s logistics sector.

Through the continuous development of our locations, we continue to make a key contribution to the sustainable structural transformation of the Ruhr region. Today, we operate more than 400 hectares of land, which we are transforming into attractive logistics centers for renowned clients from around the world. More than 7,000 jobs have already been created on the logport sites.

New technologies, digitalization, and global networks are constantly driving duisport forward – and enabling you to realize future-ready logistics solutions.
